Tether kept the most real revenue of any protocol last month, $486.83M. Across DeFi, protocols banked $1.15B in 30 days. Revenue is the share the protocol keeps after paying its liquidity providers, the closest thing on-chain has to earnings.
About 19% of the capital chasing DeFi yield sits in pools where token emissions, not real fees, are the bigger half of the return. That money is renting yield: when the emissions stop, the reason it is there stops with them.
The median deep stablecoin pool pays about 3.0% in real, fee-based yield, before a single emission token is printed. This is the floor that does not evaporate: what a dollar actually earns on-chain when nobody is bribing it to stay.
